The Frisco City Council is considering an innovative, proposed public-private partnership for an animal facility, designed to be the first of its kind in North Texas.
Aside from a convenient place where residents can reunite with their pets – dogs, cats and exotics -- the new facility will provide the services below, using ‘Fear Free’ practices:
The proposed facility would be built at the southwest corner of PGA Parkway at Gateway Drive, next to the Circular Services Recycling facility.
The proposed, two-story facility is designed to span nearly 19,000 square feet.
The first floor features day care; play yards; boarding, holding and quarantine kennels; exam and isolation rooms, as well as space dedicated for radiology, surgery and recovery.
The LOI is non-binding and simply signals the city’s intent to negotiate the terms of a formal operating agreement with the proposed Operator Partner.
No final decision would be made on the project until Council approves that agreement at a formal meeting of the City Council.
Following City Council approval of the Animal Facility Letter of Intent in November, the City engaged a design team led by PGAL to begin working with City staff and the proposed facility operator partner on a refined design concept.
