The purpose of the tree preservation ordinance is to preserve, protect, and enhance existing trees and natural landscapes to contribute to a safe and livable community; to enhance a positive community image that attracts new residents and business enterprises; and to support the long-term viability of existing trees through protection measures that promote the natural, ecological, environmental, and aesthetic qualities of the City.
The Director of Planning, or their designee, is appointed by the City Manager to administer city ordinances related to tree preservation.
