We are proud to have our South Garland Library be Garland’s first certified Family Place Library!
A Family Place Library builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and education, and supportive communities play a critical role in a young child’s growth and development.
Through free programs and services designed for our youngest patrons (ages 0 – 5 years) and their parents and caregivers, we welcome families to learn, play, and grow together at the library and at home.
Meet our friendly Children’s Librarians, who are trained in early literacy, child development, and family support.
Our signature multi-week workshop where toddlers (ages 1 – 3 years) and their parent/caregiver can play, make friends, and explore together.
Each week grown-ups can also talk one-on-one with a different early childhood development specialist.
This workshop is currently offered two times per year, once in Spring and once in the Fall.
