New Library Card Guidelines

New Non-Resident Library Card Fee

Beginning October 1, Garland Public Libraries will introduce a $50 annual fee for non-resident library cards , with the exception of residents of six cities that participate in reciprocal borrowing with Garland Public Libraries.

Residents of Mesquite, Plano, Richardson, Rowlett, Sachse and Wylie will continue to receive a Garland library card at no charge.

(Reciprocal borrowing means these cities also provide free library cards to Garland residents.)

Garland residents support Garland Public Libraries through local taxes.

The new fee helps ensure that residents of communities without reciprocal borrowing contribute toward the library services and resources available with a Garland library card.

A library card isn't required to enjoy many of our services!
